Vintage tags, Beaded Spools and more Beaded Hat pins

Life is certainly busy with two little boys, but in between nappies, house cleaning, playing loungeroom and feeding bottomless stomachs I do manage to get a little craft done each day. So, playing catch up now here are some new additions to my little online shops.

Beaded Hat Pins

I can't bring myself to buy something when I think I can make it myself. So here are my versions of the Prima and Petaloo stick pins. Made with beads that I had stored away so long ago there almost vintage :) along with some recent additions of swarovski beads, butterfly spacer beads, tourmaline gems and more. I made six lots so I could put up two in each of my stores, so you can buy these in my craftumi, madeit and etsy stores.

"Here's another bead Mum!"

There are beads all over my kitchen table and it happens that quite a few get accidently knocked to the floor. Alex's eyesight is much keener than mine and he has been enjoying discovering beads on the floor, its a frequent mini treasure hunt here lately.

So here is what I have been doing with these beads.

Charm dangles!

I brought some of 7gypsies dangles to go on a paper bag album and love them, so of course I wanted to make my own. My first two creations are below and are up on madeit now.

Beaded Sewing Spools

So easy to make and beautiful to look at. I distressed a tim holtz spool die cut, then wrapped around some DMC floss, threaded the needle with the floss, then the beads and stuck it back through the cotton to hold it in place. The first one looked so good I had to make more, than go out and buy more sewing needles to make even more. You can buy them now at my Craftumi store here.

Felt Birds have flown into my Craftumi store

These gorgeous birds are made from a blended wool / viscose felt that I purchased from a fellow Craftumi. You can buy some of this gorgeous felt from BumbleBeeDesigns.

I used the blue birds on a clock I made for my Mum for Yule. The Kaisercraft clock was covered in Grace Taylor baby boy papers and features pictures of my two little boys.

Owl Shadow Box and Scrapbook Embellishment kit

Saturday was my sisters Yule Celebration and I've been very busy making up presents. Yes my two little boys are very lucky to have two christmas' each year, complete with presents and yummy food.

For my sister this year I decided on a Owl Shadow Box, I covered the box with "What a Hoot" papers from Kaisercraft, stuck the paper with quote onto a piece of thick cardboard from a postage box to give it some dimension in the box, added some butterfly and leaf stickers onto the glass. Stuck an owl brad through some fabric leaves and added some fibres to the back for the embellishment on the right side of the box and glued down an owl pendant on the other side. I think she will like when she gets it, unfortunatly I forgot to bring it to the Yule party...with two kids now my memory is even worse.

I had some papers left over from the shadow box so made up some flowers, joined those with some made from Kaisercraft flowers, a green bird and bird cage, an owl pendant / charm and some tags to make an owl embellishment kit. Now available at my craftumi store. Click here to buy the kit.

The Owl pendant was made using LittleRedRaspberry's scrabble tile pendant supplies in her craftumi store. The image I brought along with a few others from Cameoshoppe on etsy.

Handmade Fabric Flowers

I had an old pair of jeans with ripped knees that I didn't wear anymore but I hated to throw them out. The solution. Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. Now there are denim fabric flowers in my craftumi store.

Moments to Share - Paper Bag Album

My newest paper bag album just in time for mothers day. Its on ebay now and you can purchase by clicking here.

The front cover is jammed packed. I don't think I could add any more elements to it. There is a Tim Holtz die cut dress form which I have dressed in a concertina folded paper skirt, with a blue top that has a pearl edged neckline. The waist has been tied with a pink grosgrain ribbon. The bobbin from the same die cut has been wrapped with cotton and I used the birdcage Tim Holtz die cut to cut out the bird that has a piece of thread in its mouth. Their are paper flowers made by me using Tim Holtz tattered florals die as well as some Kaisercraft flowers. The pearl flourish down the bottom was made from a Kaisercraft pearl strip that I just hand shaped. The die cut butterflies are made using a punch and the paper for the butterflies was from a DCWV line that had glitter on it so the butterflies do sparkle a little.

The album is tied together with grosgrain and organza ribbon.

Each of the pages has a lace edge.

Two little charms dangle off the paperclip that I used to keep the little book on the front page closed.

The little book opens up so you can add a picture or journalling or both.

The first two pages have handmade and Kaisercraft flowers. All photo mats have been double matted. The little LOVE tag and ticket came from a digital collage called Shabby Tickets from Iralamija on etsy. You can buy the collage for yourself here, I actually brought six of her collages because one is not enough when they are all so beautiful.

Another shabby ticket saying LAUGH and more pull out tags.

The page on the right is a little window with lace and pearl trim that opens up.

Inside the window their is a photo mat and two stamps from Iralamija's Pretty Finds collage.

The dress form on the left page is die cut from pink DCWV card stock, I then stamped it with butterflies from a Kaisercraft stamp and embossed it. The ticket underneath says "DREAM". On the right page their is another ticket saying "Remember this Moment".

More tags and tickets. Another Tim Holts die cut, the birdcage has a brad saying "Hope" on the top and has been decorated with Kaisercraft diamonte strips along the middle and little flower jewels and lace on the bottom. The cage also holds more journalling tickets.

The flip page opens up to reveal a butterfly again from one of the digital collages. The body of the butterfly has pearls.

The back of the album with space for another message.

25 tags of various sizes and shapes. The big ones fit into the top opening pockets.

I've stamped the big tags on the back with butterflies.

Thanks for looking,
